Raffle

Fish 4 Kidz may be a FREE to enter event, but does involve quite a bit of paperwork (posters, entry forms, I.D. badges, certificates, etc. It goes without saying that all this costs money. We used to have a sponsor that covered all this, but sadly that sponsor has moved on. To enable us to recuperate these expenses we tried a raffle in 2018.

We asked for prize donations, the response was fantastic. But then as with all raffles, you need someone to operate it, by selling tickets and organising others to sort and fold tickets etc. My daughter (Kerrie Sullivan, who is also the named First Aider for the day) came to the rescue, she worked tirelessly selling tickets and folding them.

The raffle worked, it covered all of the expenses, the extra money raised was donated to the Eastbourne RNLI.

This year we donated £206.00 to the RNLI

Among the people who donated prizes for the raffle was local celebrity Gary Tulley. Gary is an ex boxer, who became a successful author. He donated signed copies of his latest books, a trilogy of boxing crime.

The lucky winner of the books was myself (Steve Frost, Founder of Fish 4 Kidz)

Thank you Gary

Kerrie Sullivan is the Fish 4 Kidz named First Aider. Kerrie also runs the Fish 4 Kidz raffle, she is behind the selling and folding of tickets, we couldn't hold the raffle without her help.

Thank you Kerrie

Andrew Worrell entered his daughter into the second Fish 4 Kidz. His daughter caught a fish and won a prize, they both thoroughly enjoyed the day. Andrews daughter had been hooked, she wanted to go fishing all the time, Andrew got fishing tips, lessons and equipment from Tony Kirrage of Tony's Tackle. He then introduced his son into fishing, eventually they were all hooked on fishing.

Andrew went on to set up "Grumpy Angler", guided shore, lake, river and harbour fishing for children and families.

Andrew Worrell is now part of the Fish 4 Kidz committee

Our Official Fish 4 Kidz photographer is Marie Wheeler, Marie has once again attended this years event, but due to health issues, she is unable to work all 20 beaches, this is a distance of 1.3 miles and would be awkward enough for a fit person on their own, so this year i had a good friend, help out. Darryl Gosling pounded the beaches with my camera and took some great pics, Marrie stayed in an area near Andrew Worrells beach and took some great pics there, Marie also photographed the presentation.

Here are the photograph's.
