Booking in
We kept things just the same as the last couple of years, we booked in upstairs in the Eastbourne Angling
Association because it has worked previously.
The stewards arrived nice and early for breakfast, the table numbers with names were put out, rods and reels
were set up, bait sorted, goody bags finished off (most of the work was done on the Friday), the paperwork was set up, badges issued, and this year we had a steward at the main downstairs door to hand out car park passes. This went down very well with a lot of people.
This year we had 2 photographers attending the event, Tom Hastings, a local man who used to fish with the Nomads, offered to cover our event as photography is his hobby. And local lady Marie Wheeler,
Marie is just starting out in a photographic business and donated her services for us.
The booking in started at about 10:30am and went very well, with each child receiving
a free drink and packet of crisps, these were donated by the Eastbourne branch of Booker.
Dave Philips from the Eastbourne RNLI, handed out
beenie hats to the children, and there was a promotional
photogtraph taken for use with RNLI Safe Fishing.
One of Marie Wheelers photographs was chosen
for use with the promotion.
